CWBC + ACWBC
CWBC + ACWBC — NBHWC Certification Pathway
A comprehensive, evidence-based pathway designed to prepare you for National Board Certification.
The CWBC + ACWBC program is ElevateU Wellness Coaching & Academy’s complete training pathway for individuals seeking eligibility to sit for the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) certification exam.
This two-part program combines foundational coaching education with advanced, practice-based training, ensuring students not only understand coaching theory—but can confidently apply it in real-world coaching relationships.
Step 1: Certified Well-Being Coach (CWBC)
CWBC provides the foundation. Students develop a strong coaching mindset, learn core behavior-change theories, and build essential skills such as presence, mindful listening, ethical practice, and client-centered communication. This phase focuses on the transition from helping and advising to professional coaching partnership.
Step 2: Advanced Certified Well-Being Coach (ACWBC)
ACWBC builds mastery. Students deepen their skills through supervised coaching labs, applied behavior-change strategies, and structured feedback. This phase emphasizes real coaching practice, professional judgment, ethical decision-making, and demonstrated competency across all NBHWC core areas.
Together, CWBC + ACWBC:
-
Meet and exceed NBHWC minimum contact-hour requirements
-
Cover all five NBHWC Core Competency Areas
-
Include required ethics and coaching structure education
-
Provide evaluated coaching practice and faculty feedback
-
Prepare students for professional readiness—not just exam success

Graduates of the CWBC + ACWBC pathway complete all required training components necessary for eligibility to sit for the NBHWC National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) exam, while also developing the confidence, skill, and ethical grounding needed for real-world coaching practice.
